General SummaryUnder the direction of the Controller, this individual supports the financial operations by performing routine accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and processing transactions like invoices and payments. They are responsible for tasks such as data entry, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role is crucial for the finance department's daily function and accuracy.
Core Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain financial records: Enter data from daily logs into the company's general ledger, ensuring all records are complete, current, and accurate.
- Process transactions: Handle accounts payable and receivable, including entering and balancing accounts, processing invoices and payments, and issuing receipts.
- Reconcile accounts: Compare company records with bank statements and other financial data to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
- Support the accounting team: Provide general administrative and clerical support to senior accountants and the broader accounting department.
- Assist with audits: Gather and organize financial data for periodic audits.
- Manage financial information: Maintain orderly financial filing systems, both physical and digital.
- Handle financial detail with a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy.
- Be good at multi-tasking and manage interruptions.
- Work well with others, maintain high service levels, and have good negotiation skills (internal and external customers).
- Be exceptionally detail oriented.
- Have strong organizational skills.
- Be knowledgeable in accounting and related procedures.
- Have dependable attendance and meet deadlines.
- Be skilled in Microsoft Office and be proficient in 10 key.
This position requires a minimum of one year of accounting experience to acquire sufficient background to assume responsibilities. Preferred qualifications include an Associates Degree in Accounting or three years of accounting related work experience.
