SummaryLittle Sprouts Discovery Center is looking to hire a full‑time Lead Toddler Teacher. Must be able to work anytime between 5:30am–5:30pm, Monday–Friday. Experience in a daycare center is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Duties- Plan, schedule and implement the daily program. Plan appropriate developmental experiences based on age of children.
- Provide care and protection of assigned children.
- Maintain a physical environment conductive to children's growth and development.
- Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child.
- Help children develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping and personal hygiene.
- Hold regular Parent Teacher Conferences and seek to involve parents in the child's development program by participating in meetings and demonstrating an interest in the child.
- Supervise and encourage the development of assistant teachers, aides, volunteers and other childcare personnel in the classroom.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences and workshops and other career development and professional activities.
- Assure that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate, and in good condition.
- Perform classroom related and other maintenance duties as requested.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Provide a monthly newsletter.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have completed high school or its equivalency.
- Have an Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Development or have completed or be willing to complete the Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Skills & Strategies for the Child Care Teacher.
- Be CPR and First Aid certified or be willing to obtain within 6 months of assuming the position.
- Each year after assuming the position, the teacher shall complete 15 hours of continuing education.
