Job Overview
Manpower Engineering is partnering with a reputable construction company in McFarland, WI to fill a Senior Construction Estimator – Commercial & Industrial Buildings position. The company has 50+ years of experience in new building construction and remodeling, with a strong growth record and a focus on tenant build‑outs, design/build projects, and commercial interior build‑outs.
Compensation and Benefits- Base salary up to $130,000 + bonus (depending on qualifications/experience).

The Senior Construction Estimator – Commercial & Industrial Buildings is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and project requirements to determine overall project costs. The Senior Construction Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure competitive and complete proposals.
Responsibilities- Estimate Preparation
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for all phases of construction.
- Quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, unit prices, and historical cost information.
- Bid Management
- Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Evaluate bids for scope coverage, qualifications, and pricing accuracy.
- Prepare bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and presentations.
- Preconstruction Support
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners during design development to provide cost advice and value engineering solutions.
- Assist in developing project budgets, schedules, and phasing plans.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and revisions.
- Prepare takeoffs and cost summaries using estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On‑Screen Takeoff, Pro Est, Sage Estimating).
- Present estimates to management and clients with clear supporting documentation.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate with project management and field teams to review actual costs versus estimates for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (plus).
- 5+ years of experience estimating commercial building construction projects; experience on industrial projects is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel;
Bluebeam experience is a plus. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities.
- Detail‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
