Project Manager
- Industrial / Mechanical Construction
Annual Bonus + 401K profit sharing + Company Vehicle
The Premier Group is partnering with a growing specialty construction contractor to identify an experienced, field-oriented Project Manager to lead technically challenging projects throughout North Texas and the DFW area.
This is a hands‑on role for a Project Manager who understands that successful project execution requires more than managing schedules and budgets from a desk. The ideal candidate will take ownership of assigned projects from turnover and planning through field execution, startup, closeout, and final billing, working closely with field leadership, customers, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage industrial and mechanical construction projects involving process piping, aviation fueling, civil and concrete work, excavation, demolition, and underground utilities.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, procurement strategies, subcontractor coordination plans, shutdown schedules, and work sequencing.
- Manage project budgets, committed costs, forecasting, billing, change orders, and overall profitability.
- Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, submittals, contracts, and vendor documentation.
- Collaborate closely with field crews and superintendents on constructability, manpower, equipment, sequencing, safety, and quality.
- Coordinate piping, welding and fabrication, valves and equipment, testing, flushing, commissioning, civil work, and electrical and controls subcontractors.
- Proactively identify scope gaps, constructability challenges, long-lead materials, and commercial risks before they affect project execution.
- Maintain effective communication with owners, engineers, inspectors, operators, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Support estimating and preconstruction efforts while helping build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and skilled trades.
- Work comfortably in active industrial and airport environments, including shutdowns, occasional night work, and periodic travel.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing industrial or mechanical construction projects involving one or more of the following:
- Industrial mechanical construction and process piping
- Natural gas and process facilities
- Petroleum terminals, pipelines, and tank farms
- Heavy civil construction and underground utilities
- Aviation fueling systems and related infrastructure
Direct aviation fueling experience is a plus but is not required. We are particularly interested in a resourceful Project Manager who understands industrial construction, can learn specialized systems, solves unfamiliar problems, and takes ownership of project execution.
What Success Looks LikeSuccess in this role means taking meaningful ownership of day‑to‑day project execution, earning the trust of field crews and customers, anticipating challenges before they become costly issues, and protecting project schedules and profitability. The right person will be comfortable balancing field coordination with financial and operational responsibilities, making sound decisions, and keeping projects moving forward. They will be proactive in managing resources, resolving scope issues, coordinating subcontractors, and identifying opportunities to improve execution and profitability.
This opportunity is well suited for a Project Manager who enjoys being close to the work, values accountability, and wants to make a tangible impact within a growing specialty construction organization.
