Location: Town of Texas
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Practice clinical medicine in accordance with standards set by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, balanced with other academic activities.
- Provide thorough history and physical examinations; perform invasive procedures as dictated by subspecialty. Must have manual dexterity and effective verbal communication.
- Develop and maintain a clinical practice for patients referred to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
- Provide physician staffing for training and consult services, comparable to peers with similar training and experience.
- Review ICD-10 and CPT coding, approve charge documents within four days.
- Complete medical records documentation promptly, dictating clearly and reviewing documents visually.
- Correspond with physicians regarding patient care and treatment in writing or by phone.
- Stay current with patient management approaches via attendance at conferences.
- Share clinical responsibilities, including inpatient, outpatient, and procedures.
- Request appropriate consultations with other physicians.
- Participate in peer review of faculty clinical practice.
- Engage in quality improvement and healthcare excellence projects.
- Investigate and review best practice initiatives and effectiveness projects.
- Serve on institutional and hospital committees as requested.
- Represent the department at various meetings and conferences.
- Engage in clinical and translational research to enhance academic environment.
- Develop research programs aligned with department goals, including instructing support personnel.
- Identify funding sources, submit grants, develop budgets, and complete applications.
- Serve as a role model and provide educational programs for residents, fellows, and students.
- Participate in departmental teaching and conferences.
- Supervise trainees during clinical rotations.
- Participate in external research committees, conferences, and professional activities.
- Review and edit research presentations, publications, and proposals.
Work Location:
Hybrid Onsite/Remote
This position offers a target salary of $287,044 to $367,301, with eligibility for incentives, benefits, and relocation support.
