Traditionally, this position has been a Shared Time position with Clarkston Schools. Along with Saint Patrick scheduling and responsibilities, the individual would also report attendance and have observations conducted through Clarkston Public Schools.

• Saint Patrick Catholic School has acquired the Friendzy Social-Emotional Learning program. An ideal candidate would plan and implement this program in 1 st through 8 th Grade classrooms (Grades 6-8 as a potential elective).
• For the Service elective, an ideal candidate would coordinate with lunch, recess, and homeroom teaching schedules to successfully provide opportunities for 7 th and 8 th Grade students to assist in school routines and procedures. Monitoring and accountability of these students is expected.
• Daily attendance, weekly grading, and weekly lesson plans are expectations for this position.
• Develop and use effective methods of evaluation; consistently and effectively evaluate student progress.
• Set high standards for student behavior and manage inappropriate behavior effectively.
• Maintain a functional and pleasant learning environment.
• Work effectively with all staff members to promote positive relationships with students and parents.
• Demonstrate professional responsibility in enforcing school policies and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and abide by the school’s Staff Handbook.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• An ideal candidate would be strongly committed to Catholic education and promote the teachings of the Catholic faith in their work.
• A Bachelor degree in education from an accredited university.
• State of Michigan Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education.
• Ability to complete criminal history and background check.
• Ability to complete Protecting God’s Children.
