New London Local Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated Intervention Specialist to join our team. As an Intervention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and behavioral needs of students, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and interventions necessary for their success. This position will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement effective strategies that promote positive educational outcomes.
Responsibilities- Design and implement individualized intervention plans for students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and challenges and use data to inform instructional decisions.
- Provide direct instruction and support in various academic areas, including reading, writing, math, and other relevant subjects.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies for students both at school and at home.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in intervention strategies for diverse learners.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of intervention and special education.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree considered).
- Valid Ohio teaching certification in PreK–12:
Mile/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive preferred, but PreK–3 certification accepted. - Proven experience working with diverse learners, including students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Strong understanding of various intervention strategies and the ability to apply them effectively in the classroom.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instructional decisions.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward working with students of varying abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to special education.
