White Deer ISD is seeking a teacher with the possibility of assisting in coaching Volleyball, Basketball, and Track, with additional coaching opportunities in tennis. The position offers $6,000 above state base, plus each coaching assignment's individual stipend. The district pays $300 per month toward the applicant's health insurance.

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in core subjects to support intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function in society; provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and excel in assigned sport(s). Contribute to the education program and to the growth of students involved in athletics.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment and technology that reflect understanding of students’ learning styles and needs; present subject matter according to TEA guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with IEPs.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ physical, social, and emotional development.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues and community members.
• Comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

• Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification
• Special Knowledge/
  
  Skills:
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to instruct students/athletes and manage student behavior
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience:
  • Secondary teaching experience, preferred; or one year student teaching
• Bachelor degree preferred.
