Workforce Professional Development Trainer – Part Time Statewide

This position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College. Instructors may be required to develop customized training curriculum and/or provide instruction for workforce development and industrial training clients.

• Develop curriculum for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
• Deliver instruction for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
• Complete documentation including grades, etc., as required by the supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned

The Workforce Training Instructor - is responsible for delivering high-quality, industry-focused training to adult learners, employers, and workforce development participants throughout the state of Texas. This part-time position provides instruction in business, management, leadership, project management, workplace communication, customer service, critical thinking, quality improvement, office technology, and other professional skills. The instructor will facilitate engaging, practical learning experiences designed to help participants develop skills that can be immediately applied in the workplace.

Training may be delivered in person at employer or campus locations throughout Texas. The successful candidate will bring a combination of professional experience, instructional ability, and practical knowledge of today’s workplace. The position requires significant statewide travel and the ability to adapt training content and delivery methods to meet the needs of diverse industries, organizations, and adult learners.

Deliver instructor-led workforce training programs for adult learners in business, leadership, management, professional development, technology, and workplace skills.

Facilitate courses in areas such as:

• Management Fundamentals
• Leadership and Supervisory Skills
• Workplace Communication
• Professionalism in the Workplace
• Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
• Office Management , Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Internet and workplace technology.

Deliver both introductory and intermediate/advanced training based on participant skill levels and employer needs.

Facilitate interactive learning activities, discussions, demonstrations, simulations, group exercises, and hands‑on activities.

Maintain current knowledge of business practices, leadership principles, project management methodologies, workplace technology, quality improvement practices, and emerging workforce trends.

Work with workforce development staff and employer partners to understand training objectives and customize instructional content when appropriate.

Provide a professional and engaging learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration, critical thinking, and practical application.
