Location: Town of Texas

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day safety operations for transmission and distribution projects in California.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Provide safety training and awareness programs for on-site personnel.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Evaluate contractors and subcontractors for safety performance and adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience in overseeing safety management for transmission and distribution projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards, particularly in the energy sector.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive a safety culture.
  • Experience conducting safety training and developing safety programs.
  • Familiarity with incident investigation and reporting processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contractors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
