Sr Quality​/Reliability Engineer

Overview

Sr Quality/Reliability Engineer role at Milwaukee Tool. Reports to the Senior Quality Manager. The primary duty is to serve as a Quality & Reliability expert to the business and projects teams with minimal supervision. The position requires strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, proactive execution of deliverables, and collaboration with global teams to support NPD, product support, and reliability initiatives.

• Administration Responsibilities
  • Work with global teams in Germany and Asia to execute NPD, Product Support, and Value Engineering projects. Up to 20% travel is required.
  • Represent the Accessories Quality & Reliability team on NPD projects alongside Marketing and Engineering. Capture and communicate risk and lead alignment towards mitigation and closure.
  • Research, develop and revise Quality Policies, Procedures, System Instructions, Engineering Standards and Work Instructions governing Quality Engineering operations and related activities.
  • Establish and maintain a framework for collecting and analyzing product performance, statistical process control, and gauge studies. Write standards and procedures for data collection and reporting.
  • Lead Supplier Development activities for all NPD projects to ensure stable processes and manufacturing of quality products in mass production.
• Quality Engineering Responsibilities (60%)
  • Perform process analysis on machines, equipment, and systems to facilitate process improvement. Track process performance and provide feedback to engineering, manufacturing, and management.
  • Guide suppliers in process improvement to reduce variation and increase controls.
  • Review designs of new products and engineering changes regarding quality control/assurance and gauge requirements; identify critical quality requirements and controls.
  • Establish and maintain quality and process control plans to support manufacturing and quality activities, including process auditing.
  • Coordinate the corrective action system, including supplier corrective actions, to ensure root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventive actions.
• Reliability Engineering Responsibilities (40%)
  • Develop test plans and procedures to ensure products meet customer requirements.
  • Report and present product information using statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis and reliability matrices.
  • Review new product designs and changes with respect to reliability, end-user requirements, and warranty information.
  • Draw concise conclusions from experiments based on data analysis.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, plus five years of related work experience
• Strong background in statistical analysis and methodologies
• Working knowledge of quality/reliability applications such as Minitab and Relia Soft
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Six Sigma experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
