Process Engineer
Join The Probst Group as a Process Engineer, supporting our customers and organization in industrial wastewater engineering and providing engineered solutions.
Expectations- Work as a key contributor in the Engineering/Tech Services Teams focusing on researching, proposing and developing engineered wastewater solutions
- Contribute to the overall education and understanding of the Probst team relating to wastewater process technologies
- Partner with the Operations Team, both onsite and remote, at wastewater treatment facilities managed by Probst and projects in the construction phase of development
- Manage wastewater treatment evaluation and detail design projects in alignment with Probst Group SOPs
- Develop and review design calculations, engineering reports, technical memos and troubleshooting guides, process control narratives, and process control lab procedures for industrial wastewater treatment systems
- Perform detailed data review and analysis for wastewater operations
- Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFD) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&)
- Complete bid requests and evaluate quotations for process treatment equipment
- Complete Schedule of Values (SOV), including general, mechanical, electrical, equipment and technical services costs
- Mentor and develop existing employees in their wastewater education
- Partner with Sales & Marketing to present at trade shows, seminars and to customers or stakeholders upon request
- Other duties as assigned
- Willing to work out of the Hartland, WI office
- Master's Degree from an accredited university in Environmental Engineering (or equivalent);
PhD preferred - Travel up to 30% of the time (primarily in WI)
- Display strong, concise written communication skills, primarily for reports, directions and manuals
- Ability to manage and support several projects concurrently
- Proficient in designing and operating biological treatments such as Anaerobic Digestion, Enhanced Biological Nutrient Removal (EBPR), Nitrification/Denitrification, Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB), Membrane Bioreactors (MBRs), Moving Bed Bioreactors (MBBRs)
- Familiarity with Whole Effluent Toxicity testing and mitigation strategies
- 5+ years’ experience in industrial wastewater management
- Experience working with a diverse team of wastewater professionals
- Familiar with biological modeling programs (e.g., Bio Win)
- Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical software
