Position Summary
Our client is looking for aSenior Process Engineer responsible for designing and laying out fluid process systems ranging from single pieces of equipment (such as a CIP skid) to complete plant systems. This role manages projects from concept through process design, equipment sizing/specification, installation, and commissioning. The position requires clear communication with contractors, consultants, vendors, and clients to coordinate all aspects of a project.
Key Responsibilities- Design fluid process systems, including batching, processing, packaging, CIP/COP, pasteurization, filtration, and heat exchange systems.
- Understand utility systems such as steam, condensate, glycol, tower water, and city water.
- Calculate cooling/heating loads and select pumps, valves, instrumentation, and controls.
- Create mass balances, PFDs, P&IDs, utility/equipment matrices, timelines, SOPs, and SSOPs.
- Develop equipment performance specifications and RFQs.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Interact with equipment vendors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Collaborate with project teams and internal resources to drive project efficiency.
- Travel to customer sites to gather project details, maintain client relationships, and supervise field personnel as needed.
- Manage or supervise work performed at customer facilities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
- 10+ years of related engineering experience (supervisory experience preferred)
- Knowledge of industry standards, Dairy 3A, USDA, and FDA guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD with isometric drafting
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
