The Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the engineering and maintenance operations at Dellshire Resort, ensuring that the property’s buildings, systems, and equipment operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. This position provides strategic leadership to the Engineering team while maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The Director of Engineering plays a critical role in maintaining the resort’s luxury standards, supporting sustainability initiatives, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all guests and curators.

What You’ll Do
- Direct and supervise all engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, back‑of‑house areas, and equipment.
- Lead, train, and schedule the Engineering team to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance and safety needs, ensuring timely repairs and compliance with brand and regulatory standards.
- Manage and coordinate capital projects, renovations, and upgrades in collaboration with the General Manager and corporate teams.
- Ensure compliance with fire, life safety, and building codes; maintain documentation for inspections, certifications, and permits.
- Monitor utility consumption and implement energy‑saving initiatives to support Dellshire’s sustainability goals.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, vendor contracts, and purchase orders.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, controlling labor and operational costs effectively.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including power outages, system failures, and natural disasters.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Front Office departments to resolve maintenance issues quickly and discreetly.
- Oversee third‑party contractors and ensure work meets resort quality and safety standards.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability within the Engineering Department.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the General Manager.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel or resort engineering, including supervisory or managerial experience.
- In‑depth knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical).
- Experience managing large‑scale maintenance operations and capital improvement projects.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, local building codes, and fire safety standards.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, guest‑centered environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management systems (MMS or CMMS).
- EPA Universal Certification or related licensure preferred.
