Responsibilities/Duties- Acts as an advocate for Resident Rights to ensure quality of life (Person First principles).
- Helps with preparation and serving of food in the dining area as needed.
- Assist residents to and from activities. Is responsible for reminding co-workers and CNA's of those residents who wish to participate in activities.
- Plan, assist with and/or leads group activities as assigned.
- Assist with planning of monthly/seasonal decorating and activities for the residents and families.
- Coordination of daily/weekly/monthly activities for residents.
- Wash and dry residents' personal laundry as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant and current in WI registry preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in long term care.
- Current BCLS required within first month of employment.
- Attends annual Education Day and completes Continuing Education hours documented.
- Interacts with residents, their families, visitors, supervisors and co-works in a polite, professional manner and demonstrates teamwork.
- Maintains all regulatory requirements.
- Ensures confidentiality of patients/residents and employees at all times.
- Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized time system correctly.
- Attends any committee/ meetings as required.
- Actively participates in the department's performance improvement activities, as requested.
- Complies with all organizational policies.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Use of basic cleaning equipment to include: mop, broom, vacuum, carpet cleaning equipment, etc.
Occasionally
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like.
- Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Operating machinery.
Constantly
- Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly as required.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to continuously be on feet for 6-8 hours.
