Emergency Department Technician – Per Diem Position

Role & Department:
Emergency Department Technician in the Emergency Services Department

Hours & Shift: Per diem position, one weekend per month required

• The Emergency Department Technician is responsible for obtaining and processing patient information as the primary role.
• May be required to assist with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and Physician in the Emergency Department.

• Candidates must have a current EMT certification or Advanced EMT certification or other closely related background required.
• One year of past work experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Experience working with an ambulance crew would be beneficial.
• Prior medical terminology is beneficial.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to work some flexible hours is very beneficial.
• Prior experience using the EPIC medical record system is preferred but not required.
