Job Summary
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) assumes responsibility for individual professional actions and judgments, during both independent and dependent emergency functions. The certified EMR functions while applying the usual skills of the certified EMR in an ambulance setting.
Job Qualifications EducationFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Completion of program for the training of EMRs.

Required:
None
Preferred/Optional: Experience as a First Responder.
Certifications / LicensesThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum
Required:
- Current Wisconsin EMR license, with renewal as dictated by State of Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months of hire.
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency. Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to MCHS's insurer.
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) within two years of hire.
Preferred/Optional:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC), Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT) at the time of hire.
