Caregiver Cantata

Cantata Home Services is part of Cantata Adult Life Services, which provides care and support to older adults in home and community settings.

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide direct care to elderly and vulnerable clients in their homes.

Delegation of Authority:
You will be delegated responsibility and accountability for carrying out assigned duties.

Responsibility for Confidential Data:
Safeguard sensitive information, including client medical and personal data.

Physical Requirements /

Working Conditions:

Must be in good general health, able to bend, lift, push, sit, stand and walk for extended periods; lift a minimum of 50 lbs; may work weekends, holidays, and adverse weather conditions.

• Demonstrated passion for providing direct care to elderly people and/or other vulnerable clients
• Maturity, patience, and the willingness to work closely on a team
• Excellent and adaptable people skills
• Experience working independently, exercising good judgment and time management skills
• Valid driver’s license, reliable access to a car, and active car insurance
• Comfortable with using calendars and email on a computer and smartphone
• Completion of State of Illinois 8‑hour training prior to hire, per state regulations
• Successful passing of a drug test and IDPH fingerprint criminal background test
• Ideally, at least three (3) years of experience in a direct care capacity
• Flexibility and interest in going above and beyond
• An open mind and interest in learning to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people
• Certified Nursing Assistant competency desired, but not required
• Extensive contact with customers on a daily basis, with the Program Manager, and some interaction with customers’ family members

• Must be in good general health and maintain personal good health and safety practices to perform the job.
• Requires bending, lifting, pushing, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods; ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• May be requested to work on weekends and holidays when necessary.
• May be required to work in adverse weather conditions.

• Job duties are Category II: no routine contact with blood, body fluids or tissues.
• Routine exposure to chemicals used in homes or by Cantata Adult Life Services.
