We’re looking for a skilled Word Press Engineer (Contract / Freelance) to collaborate with our team on a range of custom Word Press projects. We’re seeking curious, proactive developers who care deeply about accessibility, performance, scalability, and crafting exceptional user experiences. This role isn’t suited for page builder work like Elementor; it’s designed for developers experienced with modern PHP, Git‑based workflows, and building custom themes and plugins, approaching Word Press as a complete engineering platform.

This opportunity is open to independent contractors interested in per‑project or ongoing freelance work. You’ll work closely with our engineering, design, and project management teams to bring digital experiences to life for clients across industries.

• Build responsive, accessible, and high‑quality Word Press websites using modern tooling and workflows.
• Optimize websites for speed, scalability, and long‑term sustainability.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and team leads on feature implementation, validation, and code reviews.
• Communicate clearly with project managers and team leads, keeping progress visible and transparent.
• Track your time accurately and meet project milestones and delivery timelines.
• Be available during agreed‑upon business hours (UTC/GMT –5 hours, Dallas, TX, USA) for team collaboration.

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Word Press Engineer or similar role.
• Strong experience with Word Press development, especially the Word Press Block Editor and Full Site Editing.
• Familiarity with build tools like Gulp, Webpack, or similar.
• Understanding of performance optimization, Word Press Multisite, and scalable theme architecture.
• Experience with Git (Bit Bucket/Git Hub/Git Lab) workflows and branching strategies.
• Comfortable collaborating with designers, project managers, and developers across disciplines.
• Experience using tools such as Figma for design handoff.
