AI Advisor – AI & Compliance Strategy

We’re seeking an experienced AI Advisor to support a US-based enterprise in shaping and embedding an ethical, compliant, and future‑proof approach to AI adoption. This contract role is ideal for a senior professional who brings strategic insight into responsible AI governance, ethical deployment frameworks, and the evolving regulatory landscape—from US‑specific policies to global standards. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, and compliance leaders to define how AI is designed, developed, and deployed responsibly across the business.

• Advise on responsible AI governance — shaping the ethical strategy and operating model for AI usage across the organization.
• Interpret and apply emerging US and global regulations (including elements of the EU AI Act and U.S. state‑level data laws) to guide ethical practices.
• Design scalable frameworks for the development, deployment, and oversight of machine learning systems — with clear accountability and compliance guardrails.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams (engineering, data, legal, and risk) to embed ethical checkpoints across the AI lifecycle.
• Establish AI audit and monitoring standards, ensuring real‑time and retrospective validation of AI models.
• Lead training sessions and stakeholder workshops to raise awareness and engagement around responsible AI principles.
• Stay ahead of trends in regulatory and technical innovation — becoming a trusted voice in how the business navigates complexity.

• A proven background in AI ethics, responsible AI, or AI compliance — ideally in a regulated or complex environment.
• Deep familiarity with AI/ML technologies and how ethical and legal considerations map across their lifecycle.
• Experience applying regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR, emerging US federal/state AI bills, EU AI Act, data privacy mandates).
• Strong communication and influencing skills—with the ability to advise C-level executives and technical leaders alike.
