Senior Director Analyst - Digital Workplace – Enterprise Application Architecture and Operations

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Research and Advisory sector, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional and global levels. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, a director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives.

They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on practitioner background from working in advanced technical roles (e.g. one of the following or similar roles:
Application Architect, Digital Workplace Architect, Director of Collaboration Platforms, Content or Collaboration Architect, Microsoft 365 Architect, CTO of a smaller organization, etc.) The candidate will be an experienced technical professional with the ability to bridge the gap between technical engineers and senior IT Architects focusing on enterprise AI assistants, enterprise application or content and collaboration platforms knowledge.

• Enterprise applications and content collaboration tools with the ability to demonstrate understanding of the business applications and opportunities in that market. Knowledge of the global landscape, and the competitive interplay between incumbents, emerging providers, disruptors and outsource rs.
• Microsoft 365 Copilot and/or Google Gemini deployment and governance, including security, privacy, deployment planning, onboarding and training considerations.
• Enterprise AI assistant governance tools such as Microsoft Agent 365, One Trust AI, True Foundry or similar.
• Implementation and governance best practice for low-code and citizen developer automation tools such as Microsoft Power Platform, Mendix, and Outsystems.
• Implementation experience with one or more collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Box, Zoom, Slack or others) including governance, management and operationalization of these platforms in a variety of organizations/industries and at varying scales.
• Cloud content collaboration provisioning and governance tools with experience using one or more of the following cloud governance vendors’ products:
  Avepoint, Syskit, Rencore, Powell, and others.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Government, for example GCC/GCC high, including features/functionality, limitations, and differences with commercial cloud versions of Microsoft 365.
• Experience in managing and governing a Microsoft 365 multi-tenant organization or significant awareness of multi-tenant capabilities and challenges unique to multi-tenant environments.
• Experience with meeting tools and meeting room technology including vendors such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Slack, Zoom or others.
• Experience in one or more Microsoft extended tool sets such as Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot in SharePoint, SharePoint Advanced Management, Microsoft Viva, or Microsoft Purview.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
  Graduate degree preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
• Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables.
