Part-Time Police Officer

The Bozeman Police Department is seeking a dedicated and professional Part-Time Police Officer to join our Public Safety team. As a Part-Time Police Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and security of the Municipal Court, the Bozeman Public Safety Center, and law enforcement during special events.

Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt
Work Week: Two 8 hour shifts, totaling 16 hours per week

Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)

• Provides assistance to the Bozeman Municipal Court by providing a presence during court hearings and trials, transferring citizens to the Gallati
• Substantial knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws governing police activities and operations, including all related criminal and civil laws and ordinances;
• Substantial knowledge of the Department’s policy, protocols and practices;
• Substantial knowledge of crime prevention and law enforcement, including investigation and identification, patrolling, traffic control, records management, and care and custody of persons and property;
• Substantial knowledge of the functions and objectives of Federal, State, and City law enforcement agencies as applicable to community law enforcement, particularly with reference to apprehension, arrest, search and seizure, evidence and records maintenance, and traffic control;
