As the Exteriors Category Manager, your primary objective is to serve as the Category "CEO" and Strategic Architect of a multi-million dollar product portfolio (roofing, siding, decking, fasteners). You are responsible for the financial health, inventory stewardship, and vendor accountability of your category from "Birth to End" in our ERP. Sitting at the intersection of Negotiation, Data Integrity, and Operational Grit, you ensure that our commitment to the builder is executed flawlessly by aligning Estimating strategies with our physical buying power, preventing "Material Surprises" on the jobsite.

• The Investor (P&L Ownership):
  Treat every dollar spent on inventory as if it were coming out of your own profit-sharing check; monitor "Cost Drift," maximize back-end rebate capture, and manage inventory turns.
• The Enforcer (Vendor Accountability):
  Hold our exterior product partners to the "Drexel Standard," ensuring they deliver on time, in-full, and at the cost they promised.
• The Link (Estimating Strategy):
  Define the preferred vendors and stock SKUs for the Estimating team, ensuring the math of a quote matches our physical buying power.
• Aged Inventory Management:
  Act as the primary hunter of aged inventory; manage the notification cycles for custom goods and prep abandoned inventory for the "Boneyard" before it devalues.
• Data Integrity & Road mapping:
  Conduct a "Deep Clean" of Item Master data (lead times, pack units) and present a 12-Month Category Roadmap including "Winter Buy" strategies and "Product Exit" plans.

• Operational Grit & Negotiation:
  Confidence to hold tough conversations with vendors and realign internal takeoff strategies.
• Financial Acumen:
  Ability to manage a P&L, calculate GMROI, and execute a "Zero-Tolerance" plan for non-moving inventory.
• Systems Proficiency:
  Experience acting as the technical custodian of product life cycles within an ERP environment.
