Air Freight Specialist

Our client, a leading international freight forwarder, is seeking an experienced Air Freight Specialist to join their Dallas office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented logistics professional with a strong background in international air freight operations and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

The Air Freight Specialist will be responsible for coordinating international air import and export shipments from origin through final delivery, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, carrier regulations, and company standards. Working closely with customers, airlines, overseas offices, and domestic partners, this individual will play a key role in delivering efficient and reliable transportation solutions.

• Coordinate international air import and export shipments from booking through final delivery.
• Prepare and review all shipping documentation, including air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation.
• Arrange bookings with airlines and coordinate with trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas offices to ensure timely movement of freight.
• Track shipments proactively and provide customers with accurate status updates throughout the shipping process.
• Resolve operational issues quickly while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Ensure all shipments comply with TSA, IATA, FAA, and international trade regulations.
• Accurately enter shipment data and maintain complete records within the company's operating system.
• Work closely with sales and customer service teams to support customer requirements and identify opportunities to enhance service.
• Review billing, vendor invoices, and shipment costs to ensure accuracy.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and overseas partners.

• Minimum of 3 years of international air freight operations experience with a freight forwarder.
• Experience handling both air import and air export shipments is preferred.
• Strong understanding of international shipping documentation and air freight procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience using Cargo Wise or a similar freight forwarding system is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
