General Manager – Hacienda Campo Alegra
LocationWillacy County, Texas (northeast of Raymondville)
Position DescriptionThe individual hired will have oversight of a 6,000+ acre ranch in South Texas, northeast of Raymondville. Responsibilities include accountability for all livestock (buffalo, watusi, commercial crossbred cows, horses), wildlife operations (no commercial activity), maintenance of infrastructure and equipment, range and grazing management (including brush management and wildlife habitat), and hospitality (ownership and guests only). Expectations of ownership are high but reasonable.
This ranch is managed with a keen focus on stewardship and wildlife conservation, as well as being a responsive member and contributor to the local community.
B.S. degree in a related field is preferred but not absolutely necessary. In addition, experience, skills, and a successful history of management in this and related fields will be considered in evaluating prospective employees. The individual selected must have a valid driver’s license and certifications that may be helpful for completion of ranch objectives (private burn certifications, herbicide application permit, etc.).
- General understanding of Excel, Word, mapping, and data entry
