Position Overview

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Shipping Supervisor ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Shipping Supervisor will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily workload, determine shipping schedules, and train the shipping team in safety, accuracy, quality and efficiency.
• Ensure a clean and safe workplace for the entire department.
• Ensure the team is trained on the quality requirements for the parts handled.
• Take responsibility for time reporting, attendance, evaluations, and disciplinary or corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively within the department and with the other production departments.
• Maintain constant communication with customer service to provide superior service to our customers.
• Continually look for opportunities for improvement.
• Be a great decision maker and lead by example.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Train employees; assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
