Favor the Kind
· 3026 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas
Favor the Kind is a 6,000 square foot gift store in East Dallas, and next year we celebrate our 20th year. We've thrived through the years on one solid mission: people should leave happier than they came in. We call it The Hosted Experience, and it's the reason we exist.
Our flagship has two departments under one roof, Home & Gift and Women's, each run by its own leader. We're hiring the Assistant Store Director for Women's. The department is yours to run: the sales floor, the fitting rooms, the team, the daily operation, and the numbers.
This is a leadership, sales, and styling seat for someone who believes the greatest work is serving others. We do it by curating clothing and accessories that make a woman feel like herself, and we treat every guest interaction as the most privileged work we do.
If you're looking for a place to grow, this seat has upside. The next level is Director. We level up on skills and results, not on whether a seat is open. If you're leading like a Director, you get promoted to Director.
What You Own- The Hosted Experience. Every guest who walks into Women's is welcomed, seen, and cared for. You hold the standard and you teach it.
- The Fitting Rooms. This is where the Hosted Experience matters most. Every guest in a fitting room has a host, the right sizes, a second option she didn't think to try, and an honest, kind opinion when she asks for one.
- Styling and Clienteling. You're the lead stylist on the floor, and you teach your team to style with confidence. You build a client book, remember what people love, and reach out when something arrives that's perfect for them. Our best customers come back because someone here knows them.
- Host Flow for Women's. Host Flow is our name for how a store runs from open to close. You run the rhythm of your department: the floor set before the doors open, coverage between the floor and the fitting rooms, and the team moving as traffic changes. The Home & Gift Assistant Store Director serves as Manager on Duty for the store, and you work side by side.
- Visual Victory. You lead the visual program of the Women's floor in partnership with the company's Visual Director: mannequins, outfits, new-arrival resets, and the daily standards that make the store the most talked-about store in town.
- Styling Events and Content. You bring the department to life beyond the floor. You host styling events and trunk shows, and you help show our outfits and new arrivals on social so customers see what's new and want to come in.
- Bridge to Buyers. Being a customer centric store, we respond to our customers' wishes. You have a direct communication line with the buyers to share what customers are trying on, buying, asking for, and leaving behind.
- Women's Sales. You're accountable for your department's weekly and monthly sales and margin. You share a daily sales goal with the Home & Gift department so the floor works as one team.
- The Part-Time Team. You lead the part-time Joy Makers who help run your department, and you train every new team member to host and to style.
Everyone on our salaried team works a balanced 40-hour week: four 8.5-hour days and one 6-hour day. You get two days off every week on a fixed two-week rotation, with every other weekend off. Your rotation never changes, so you can always predict your days off.
Most days you're on the floor leading your department. You'll have a weekly office block for the numbers, planning, and your client book.
Who You Are- You have 3+ years in retail leadership, ideally in women's apparel, and you were the person everyone looked to when the day got hectic.
- You love to style. You can put an outfit together for someone you met five minutes ago, and she leaves feeling great in it.
- You build relationships. You remember names, sizes, and the trip she's shopping for.
- You lead with kindness and you hold a standard, both deliver feedback in a way that makes people excited to learn and grow.
- You care about numbers because they tell you whether the department is working. You use reports and scores to strategize ways to improve.
- You care about the store's success and your team, and the growth proves it.
- At 30 days: you're delivering the Hosted Experience, you're running Host Flow for your department, and the team trusts you as their coach and guide. They know if you encounter something new, you'll seek clarity. Your partnership with the Home & Gift Assistant Store Director is…
