Location: Dickeyville, WI.
Assist the foundry staff in evaluating casting defects, reducing process variation, collecting and analyzing data, and providing recommendations to management. Additional foundry related duties, such as coordinating trials, sand testing, process book information, and pattern evaluations, may also be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities- Evaluating casting defects: identify defect location, root cause, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Process variation: review sand testing data, monitor sand preparation process, data mining for process changes and scrap information, and perform sand testing in a lab setting to determine required sand properties.
- Process books: assist with setting up and maintaining the process books or other electronic information needed for the digital transformation project.
- Additional duties as assigned (coordinate trials, sand testing, process book information, pattern evaluations).
- Enrolled in a four‑year technical program related to the foundry industry.
- Proficient with computers; extensive computer use required.
- Good working knowledge of foundry sand, sand testing, and casting defects is a plus.
