Welding & Fabrication Shop Manager

H&S Fence & Supply is Hiring

We’re looking for an experienced Welding & Fabrication Shop Manager to lead our manufacturing operation.

This is more than a welding position. We need someone who understands fabrication, production, people, and profitability. You’ll be responsible for leading the shop team, keeping production moving, helping design and price custom projects, and improving how we manufacture our products.

• Lead and manage the welding and fabrication team
• Plan and prioritize daily and weekly shop production
• Hold employees accountable for quality, productivity, and safety
• Train and develop welders and fabricators
• Read and create fabrication drawings
• Use Solid Works for product design and shop drawings
• Work with CNC equipment and fabrication machinery
• Estimate material, labor, and production time for custom projects
• Price custom fabrication projects profitably
• Order and manage steel and shop materials
• Monitor material usage, labor hours, and production costs
• Build and improve jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing processes
• Maintain quality standards across finished products
• Coordinate with sales and management on scheduling and customer projects
• Help develop new products and improve existing designs

• Strong welding and steel fabrication background
• Leadership or shop-management experience
• Experience with Solid Works or similar CAD software
• Knowledge of CNC machinery and modern fabrication equipment
• Ability to read and create shop drawings
• Strong understanding of steel, material takeoffs, and fabrication processes
• Ability to accurately estimate and price custom fabrication work
• Understands labor efficiency, material costs, margins, and production goals
• Organized and able to keep multiple projects moving
• Comfortable holding people accountable and making decisions
• Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills
• Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do

We want someone who can walk into the shop, understand what needs to be built, how it should be built, what it should cost, and who needs to do it.

You should be equally comfortable working through a design in Solid Works, solving a fabrication problem on the shop floor, pricing a custom project, and leading a team of people.
