Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining requirements for assembly fixtures, etc.
- Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining methods for each project
- Monitor machine operations and adjust offsets to maintain tolerances
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Perform routine maintenance for check gauges and/or fixtures
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to optimize production processes
- Assist production with fixturing modifications or repairs when required to meet the daily rate
Qualification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of machining experience (or equivalent training/apprenticeship preferred)
- Proficiency reading blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Ability to proficiently interpret measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to stand for extended hours
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise & moving machinery
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds
