About the Role:

We are seeking a confident and compassionate Charge Nurse to oversee nursing operations in our behavioral health facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, sound clinical judgment, and a calm, professional presence in a fast-paced and emotionally sensitive environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support nursing staff to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
  • Oversee daily unit operations, including admissions, discharges, and coordination of care.
  • Ensure all care meets regulatory, clinical, and documentation standards.
  • Promote a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide ongoing training, guidance, and performance feedback to nursing staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility and insurance requirements.
  • Respond promptly to crisis situations and model appropriate de-escalation techniques.
  • Support compliance with all behavioral health and state/federal regulations.
  • Provide on-call support and leadership coverage during the 3pm–11pm shift as scheduled.
Qualifications:
  • Current RN license (required).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience, preferably in behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance use treatment settings.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate staff.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Compassionate, team-oriented, and committed to patient-centered care.
