Summary of Position:

Under the supervision of the Unit Manager/ADON/DON, the RN is responsible for a group of residents/patients during a shift. Care includes assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. The RN ensures standards of care are met, maintains a safe environment, and supervises nursing assistants and helpers. Adheres to North Shore’s policies, procedures, and the State Nurse Practice Act, along with JCAHO standards where applicable.

Requirements:

• Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to use necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
• Ability to calculate drug dosages
• Meet all health requirements imposed by law
• Positive, effective communication with residents, families, staff, and community members
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Basic computer knowledge with aptitude for learning company applications
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Post-acute care experience preferred
