Restoration Ecologist Technician – LTE Position

NES Ecological Services, a division of Robert

E. Lee & Associates, Inc., is a natural resources consulting firm based in Green Bay and Stevens Point, Wisconsin. We specialize in wetlands and native habitat restoration and are seeking qualified technicians to assist with projects throughout Wisconsin.

Responsibilities
  • Perform invasive species control through herbicide applications, cutting, hauling, mulching, fencing, shoveling, mowing, planting, and seeding.
  • Identify plants and navigate field sites using maps, GPS units, and other equipment.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain herbicide sprayers, GPS units, ATVs, tractors, chainsaws, brush saws, and hand tools.
  • Accurately complete daily work logs and maintain project documentation.
Qualifications
  • Current Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator License required (or ability to obtain one).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; preference for candidates working toward or holding a 2- or 4-year degree in a natural resources field.
  • Relevant job-related experience preferred but not required.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, with a positive attitude and team‑player mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to load and drive trucks with trailers.
  • Good physical condition; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Position Details
  • Limited Term: start late April/early May and end late October/early November 2026.
  • Hours:

    average 40 per week with occasional overtime; some overnight travel, extended hours, and weekend work may be required.
  • Schedule flexibility and ability to adapt to short‑notice changes.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly rate: $17.00 – $21.00, depending on knowledge and experience.
  • No benefits are included with this position.
