Norway Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled licensed veterinary technician to our team. Norway Veterinary Hospital was opened in 1964 as a full-service hospital, caring for farm animals, horses and pets. As the practice thrived, it outgrew the original facility, and we are now located on Main Street. We have recently expanded and remodeled to further accommodate our growing practice. We offer a beautiful and relaxing setting in which we aim to provide superior medical and surgical care in a gentle and efficient manner.

Our team of veterinary professionals and staff consists of highly qualified individuals who strive to keep you informed of the latest preventative health care and treatment options available. Our service offerings include:
Wellness Exams, Senior Pet Wellness, Surgery, Patient Monitoring, Pain Management, Hospitalization, Radiology, Laboratory, Dentistry, Dermatology, Pharmacy/ Pet Food / Over the Counter Products, Orthopedics, Immunizations, Microchipping, & Emergency & Urgent Care.

Part-Time and Full-Time eligible

What You'll Do
  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones

  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy

  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas

  • Perform physical assessments and record your observations

  • Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients

  • Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions

  • Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered

  • Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)

  • Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

  • Pharmacy skills, including protocols for filling in-house

  • Monitors vitals by hand and with equipment

  • Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference labs

  • Communicates within the team, proactively advocating for their patient’s needs

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required

  • Surgery and Dental experience preferred
