COMMUNITY FORESTER/ARBORISTPublic Services Department| Full-Time
The Village of Mount Horeb is seeking a Community Forester/Arborist to care for the trees and public spaces that make our community a great place to live. If you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in hands-on work, join our Public Services team!
What you'll do:Plant, prune, assess, plan, maintain, and remove trees along Village streets and in parks. Operate forestry equipment and assist with park and facility maintenance, and snow removal. Occasional evening, weekend, and emergency work is required.
Qualifications:- High school diploma/GED and two years of professional experience in urban forestry or a related field required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in urban forestry, arboriculture, or a related field preferred.
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and the required CDL, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- ISA Arborist Certification, or ability to obtain within one year of hire, preferred.
The Village participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and the Local Employer Health Insurance Program through the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF). Paid training and memberships are also provided.
