Ohly has a great opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our team in Boyceville Wisconsin USA.
This role ensures that all ingredients, in-process samples, and finished goods meet established product specifications and regulatory standards. You will play a key role in maintaining quality programs, implementing new testing procedures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
In This Exciting Role You Will Be Responsible For Analytical Lab- Analyze and approve incoming ingredients, in-process samples, and finished goods using established test procedures.
- Implement new testing procedures and integrate them into daily operations.
- Coordinate inline quality checks with Production Supervisors and the Production Manager.
- Contribute to quality programs, including training personnel.
- Initiate purchase requests for QC supplies and submit for approval.
- Actively pursue cost reduction strategies for testing and supplies.
- Conduct physical inventory of hold and rework items.
- Maintain up-to-date product, raw material, and manufacturing SOPs.
- Coordinate plant water testing, environmental sampling, and sanitation inspections; report results to the Quality Control Manager.
- Update and write procedures based on customer specifications.
- Review test results and recommend acceptance or rejection of materials and finished goods; report deviations to the Quality Control Manager.
- Issue Certificates of Analysis for finished products.
- Perform equipment and environmental audits as required.
- Complete required reports and documentation to support manufacturing operations.
- Facilitate maintenance and repair of QC testing equipment.
- Summarize and report on special projects; assist as assigned.
- Participate in Ohly Americas safety program, including safety meetings, GMP audits, and safety inspections.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and the Food Safety Plan.
- Report food safety issues to authorized personnel.
- Associate Degree in Science, Chemistry, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and GLPs.
- Proficient in PC applications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of fermentation, blending, spray drying, roller drying, and packaging preferred.
- Experience in regulatory compliance.
- Mechanical trade skills are a plus.
