Scope of role
This position is responsible for the administration and implementation of continuous improvement in the quality system. Identify opportunities for process improvement to ensure customer satisfaction. Knowledge of problem‑solving tools to eliminate potential problems. Support other departments in safety, delivery, and cost.
This position is an onsite role based out of Regal Rexnord's Union Grove, Wisconsin facility and will report directly to the Quality Manager.
Essential Responsibilities- Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto, 8D, Six Sigma, and PDCA, and work with stakeholders to implement effective countermeasures.
- Respond promptly to customer complaints, implement containment actions, and establish permanent corrective actions.
- Develop and implement process controls to reduce variation across production processes.
- Lead ISO
9001 compliance efforts including inspection procedures, sampling methods, and quality assurance documentation. - Manage internal supplier quality through direct communication, incoming inspection plans, and supplier selection using PPAPs or customer validation.
- Approve final quality reports and issue quality certificates for customer orders.
- Prepare and execute internal ISO audit programs and follow‑up audits to verify corrective actions.
- Maintain and update QMS documentation, standards, and training materials.
- Support and guide quality inspectors and auditors.
- Ensure alignment with defined quality objectives and adherence to work instructions and JIBS.
- Identify and resolve ISO nonconformances, including those from surveillance audits.
- Train QA team to trace internal nonconformance origins and collaborate on root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
- Document nonconformances in Prism 8D or designated platforms with accuracy and completeness.
- Design and pilot in‑process inspection models and hourly audit systems to establish standard work.
- Enhance feedback systems for production metrics to support data‑driven decisions.
- Conduct effectiveness checks post‑implementation of countermeasures.
- Organize and maintain historical QA data for improved accessibility and analytics.
- Provide departmental support during staff absences to maintain workflow continuity.
- Report anomalies or concerns in product/process and halt operations when necessary.
- Maintain the QAS post system with Quality Alerts, QMS and other important production aids.
- Achieving departmental goals and supporting employee development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial), industrial technology or quality from an accredited university.
- Six Sigma white belt certification.
- 3-5 years' relevant hands‑on experience in a quality engineering position in a production manufacturing environment with the ability to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial equipment or products.
- Capable of working independently as well as in a cross‑functional team environment with remote global resources, to include effective communication through diverse channels (verbal, written, video, etc.).
- Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement tools: 80/20, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Flow, Standard Work, Visual Management, Gemba, & Problem Solving are required.
- Experience creating & monitoring SPC charts, determining control limits, histograms & data variation.
- Able to calculate Cp and Cpk.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with a sense of urgency and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% to production facilities to observe current methods or implement changes.
- Six Sigma green belt certification.
- Knowledge of industrial gearboxes and the design or manufacturing processes of components such as gears, shafts, bearings, castings, fabrications, forgings, and fasteners.
- Previous project management experience.
- Proficient in Oracle and SAP ERP systems, with the ability to leverage these tools for project management.
