Clinical Research Associate – Legal Research Focus (Part‑time)
Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine seeks a part‑time Clinical Research Associate for a non‑laboratory research position. The hired individual will provide research support on a bioethics and health policy project.
Position is part‑time with no benefits, offering a flexible schedule between Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Remote within Texas.
Job Duties- Conduct legal research related to medical practice and licensing laws, and related policies.
- Draft summaries of legal analyses for internal documentation and publication.
- Support empirical research processes, including literature searches and ethical analysis of findings.
- Attend relevant project meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Degree in bioethics, humanities, public health, social sciences, or related field. Master’s degree may be accepted in lieu of experience.
- Currently enrolled in a law program as a second‑year (2L), third‑year (3L), or Master of Laws (LL.M.) student.
- Legal research experience strongly preferred.
- Professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
- Team‑oriented mindset with interest in creating value through insightful questions and suggestions.
- Demonstrated flexibility in accepting assignments, prioritizing tasks, understanding processes, and resolving issues.
Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
