Job Summary

As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. The Bartender will serve drinks and food at the bar to the guests. The bartender should enjoy conversation, live music, and mixing cocktails to customer specifications. The bartender should enjoy working in a fun and fast paced atmosphere and be knowledgeable on a wide range of cocktails and be able to mix them correctly.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete Serv Safe Responsible Beverage Service Course – or proof of current certification (i.e. Basset).
• Two years bartending experience preferred.
• Liquor, beer, wine and mixology knowledge.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Pleasant and helpful personality.

• Compose and be knowledgeable of standard drinks and liquors or wines specific to restaurant bar.
• Plan and maintain par levels for bar inventory. Prepare daily orders for bar items to maintain pars.
• Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures as outlined by the Accounting Department.
• Perform accurate bar inventory on the last day of each month or as deemed necessary by the Director of Restaurants or the Restaurant Manager.
• Responsible for learning suggestive selling techniques and using them during services.
• Maintain cleanliness of all workplace areas that apply to the bar.
• Maintain perfectly crisp uniform.

• Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
• Greet guests as they enter restaurant. Take and return guests coats as needed.
• Deliver cocktails to tables as needed.
• Assist in other Food and Beverage departments as needed.

Indoor and Outdoor:
Dimly lit, carpeted, climate-controlled environment. Occasional loud live music. Hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas. Handling hot china and silver.
