Assistant Team Lead

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Team Leader with managing payroll, budgets, store banking, shrink reduction and related reports to meet financial and operational goals.
  • Maintain store standards, Redbook compliance and company programs.
  • Ensure the front‑end, entrance and building exterior are properly maintained.
  • Provide daily tasks to Associates and ensure productivity.
  • Organize and maintain office areas.
  • Support Door‑to‑Floor process and merchandising initiatives.
  • Complete monthly Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) and alarm test; ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings with store Associates and assess changes from meetings.
  • Ensure customer service standards meet company expectations.
  • Update price changes as required by the company.
  • Coach, train, develop, evaluate, supervise and schedule store Associates.
  • Perform all Team Leader functions to open and close the store when needed.
  • Lead donation programs and Ollie’s Army sign‑up and membership initiatives.
  • Maintain hiring, recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding to meet staffing needs.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years supervisory experience in a mid‑size to large retail or service‑oriented business.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
  • Strong communication, judgment, confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Positive attitude and customer interaction skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods; bend, twist, grip, reach, pinch frequently.
  • Squat, kneel, balance, climb occasionally.
  • See, hear, speak regularly; operate a motor vehicle with a valid license.
