Summary:

Responsible for actively promoting and selling North Shore Bank products and services, building account relationships and performing Teller duties. Performs sales support activities for the sales area of the branch. On average, a minimum of 50% of activities will be devoted to sales and sales support. Performs office and administrative duties as assigned to support operational needs. Some Associate Bankers are assigned as Area Associate Bankers to support a number of branch locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SALES

  • Open new accounts and perform deposit account maintenance; ensure forms are completed accurately and that customers understand terms and disclosures.
  • Blend Teller referrals and production to achieve referral and point goals.
  • Provide basic information on consumer loan products and refer potential loan customers to an appropriate specialist.
  • Recognize additional customer opportunities and provide qualified referrals to branch business partners.
  • Use internal prospect lists to make outbound calls and participate in call initiatives.
  • Provide quality, personalized service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention, with timely follow-up by phone, mail, or in person.
  • Collaborate with Branch Manager and Personal Banker to achieve production goals and follow North Shore Bank sales processes.

SALES SUPPORT

  • Perform Teller and New Accounts duties as required for branch demands.
  • Complete required customer files and documentation; provide support to the personal banking area.
  • Research incomplete/missing documentation; assist customers with statement balancing and research.
  • Prepare documents for re-titling of accounts and provide other sales support as needed.
  • Actively participate in sales, product knowledge, and service meetings.

OPERATIONS

  • Route and process transactions efficiently with attention to accuracy and quality.
  • May open/close the branch as required.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and security procedures.
  • Address customer questions and refer complex inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Resolve non-routine inquiries and escalate issues as needed; exercise good judgment on waiving fees or negotiating deposit rates within guidelines.
  • Uphold North Shore Bank customer service standards with external and internal customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or

Experience:

High school education or equivalent and one year of related sales and service experience. Demonstrates interest in sales and exceptional customer service, with knowledge of personal deposit products and basic consumer loan products. Requires basic financial acumen and proficiency with computer systems and technology.

Compliance Requirements:
May need to register and maintain loan originator license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, including fingerprints, registry updates, and annual training for licensed individuals.

Physical Demands:
Regularly able to stand, walk, sit, and communicate; may lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to drive to North Shore Bank branch locations.

Work Environment:
Moderate noise level with reasonable accommodations available for required function. The environment may require occasional flexibility to meet branch needs.
