Campus Monitor

Job Summary

Responsible for the safety and security of the students, staff, and facilities.

• Patrol assigned areas, remaining alert for disturbances, safety hazards, traffic violations, suspicious activities, and other unusual conditions.
• Enforce all authorized laws, rules, and regulations, including the center pass policy.
• Perform building security and safety checks.
• Assist staff in quelling disturbances and provide escort services as directed.
• Receive complaints and conduct appropriate preliminary investigations.
• Ensure the physical security of buildings and property.
• Perform parking and traffic control duties.
• Assist the center in achieving its OMS goals, ensuring strict adherence to the Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Promote a positive work environment, demonstrating career success standards and core values.
• Model appropriate behaviors, mentor students, and monitor both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of law enforcement procedures.
• Basic knowledge of riot and crowd control procedures, with proven ability to intervene appropriately in physical altercations.
• Excellent interpersonal, mediation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with large groups of students, including those with special needs.
• Proficiency with computer software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Six months of experience in a security or related capacity preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Encouraged to obtain a valid commercial driver’s license (Class B with passenger endorsement) within the first year of hire. Completion of Water Safety Certification.
