Supervisor – Data Center

This role requires travelling and staying in the Abilene area, per diem, travel and lodging are paid for.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Center Supervisor to oversee inside plant (ISP) copper and fiber cable installations on complex projects nationwide. This role requires expert technical knowledge in cabling, splicing, and data center infrastructure, combined with the leadership skills to manage crews, subcontractors, and customer expectations onsite. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, hands-on installation experience, and proven leadership ability in high-volume, mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform expert-level fiber and copper cable installations, including termination, splicing, testing, and certification.
  • Install and remove powered and non-powered data center equipment (racks, cabinets, power distribution, etc.), following detailed project documentation and drawings.
  • Utilize expertise in data center infrastructure (cable management, hot/cold aisle containment, airflow, and connectivity) to ensure optimal project outcomes.
  • Execute central office (CO) frame verification, IDC terminations (66/110/LSA blocks), coaxial terminations, and paired cable testing.
  • Install and cable secondary DC power equipment, including active terminations into power bays.
  • Produce redline drawings, test validation results, and project deliverables to support client approval and invoicing.
  • Lead onsite crews and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Partner with project managers and construction leadership to coordinate labor, materials, documentation, and equipment.
  • Act as the primary onsite liaison with customers, addressing issues and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Maintain and enforce a strong safety culture, leading by example and mentoring others in best practices.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of ISP cable installation experience.
  • 2+ years of data center buildout experience.
  • 2+ years of central office (CO) buildout and frame certification experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Lead or Foreman, supervising installation crews.
  • Minimum of two manufacturer certifications (e.g., Comm Scope, B-Line) preferred.
  • OSHA 30 required;
    Man lift and CPR certifications required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Exposure to active construction sites with potential noise or distractions.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe boots).
