The Opportunity
Our USGO Badger South Area team has an open position in our Eden, Wisconsin facility covering South Central Wisconsin in the support and operation/maintenance of our natural gas pipelines and associated facilities throughout the Southern Wisconsin Area.

We are seeking an EIC Measurement Technician who is proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating natural gas compressor station control systems, measurement equipment, possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline systems and gas measurement facilities and other related facilities.

This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses excellent problem solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

What you’ll do

  • Install, commission, test, repair, and maintain, meter stations, communication systems, and other facilities related to the pipeline system
  • Troubleshoot, operate, maintain, calibrate, and repair various types of electronic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
  • Maintain power, process controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), electric, and orifice meters
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain instrumentation, electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, gas measuring and metering equipment, using hand and power tools
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, equipment, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and associated components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, frequency generators, and oscilloscopes
  • Oversee, direct, and perform tasks related to the installation, start-up, and repair of measurement and regulation equipment, such as: various types of meters, recording gauges, flow computers, LCEM units, transmitters, relief valves, regulators, valve actuators, pneumatic and digital controllers, filtration devices, odorizers, and gas quality devices (chromatographs and gas samplers)
  • Perform diagnostic tests, accuracy tests, calibrations, and replacements of various measurement and regulation equipment with test equipment such as a Hart Communicator and Fluke meter
  • Compile, prepare, and maintain written records related to DOT auditable inspections, accuracy tests, calibrations, odorant tests, equipment change outs, relief valve tests, and gas quality analysis such as dewpoint levels, specific gravity, and gas samples
  • Receive and maintain equipment documentation (blueprints, schematics, line diagrams, technical manuals, operation manuals, etc.) and serve as the facility technical resource in their review and use
  • Locate pipelines per the One Call center
  • Perform valve maintenance
  • Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAP/Blue Worx
  • Other tasks as required
  • Locate and visually mark subsurface pipeline infrastructure with paint and/or flags
  • Oversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachments
  • Complete required Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Company documentation
  • Perform pipeline maintenance activities such as leak repair, clearing and inspection of right-of-way, and assisting with tie-ins of mainline valves
  • Perform pipeline locates through the state one-call system
  • Patrol pipeline right-of-way and assist with leak surveys
