Job Title

Electronics Technician (Parsons – deployment and installation arm of Rohde & Schwarz, USA)

Parsons is looking for an Electronics Technician to install, maintain, and repair electronic equipment and systems for the FAA’s Voice Switch & Recorder (VS&R) Program. The role supports the replacement of VCS at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCTs) and other ATC facilities.

• Assist with site preparation for voice switches at ATCTs, Enroute Centers, and Terminal TRACONs.
• Install and configure electronic equipment and systems, including servers, routers, switches, and networking devices.
• Set up and secure equipment racks, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
• Terminate LAN cables, terminal blocks, and other electronic wiring, ensuring proper connections and signal integrity.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic systems, using instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
• Troubleshoot, repair, align, and calibrate audio equipment and voice communication systems to the component level, using schematics and test equipment.
• Follow technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to ensure accurate installation and repair.
• Conduct tests and inspections to verify functionality and performance of installed equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards.
• Perform other responsibilities as required.

• Associate’s degree and 6+ years of experience in testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing fiber optics, radio control systems, and complex electronics, or 8+ years of experience in lieu of associate’s degree.
• Proven experience installing and maintaining electronic equipment and systems.
• Proficiency in terminating LAN cables and other electronic wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to lift and install equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand or bend for extended periods.
• Basic Microsoft Office, Internet, and e‑mail skills.
• Must be able to meet customer security requirements and pass a federal background check.
• Must be able to travel up to 100% within the USA.

• Experience with specific brands or types of electronic equipment commonly used in the industry.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for electronic installations.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in electronic installations and repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot, modify, and install various types of electronic transmitting and receiving equipment.

• Salary range: $30.58 – $53.51 per hour.
