Thispositionfocusesonthephysicalinstallationofcommercialfirealarmsystems.
Ourinstallersrunandterminatewiring,installdevicesandsystemcomponents,andhelppreparesystemsfortestingandfinalcommissioning.
Programmingexperienceisnotrequiredbutishelpful.
Responsibilities- Installfirealarmwiringaccordingtoprojectdrawings,specifications,andapplicablecodes
- Installsmokedetectors,heatdetectors,pullstations,notificationappliances,ductdetectors,control modules,monitormodules,andrelatedcomponents
- Installandconnectfirealarmcontrolpanels,power supplies,annunciators,andothersystemequipment
- Properlyterminate,label,test,anddocumentfirealarmcircuits
- Readandinterpretconstructiondrawings,firealarmplans,riser diagrams,anddeviceschedules
- Identifywiringorinstallationissuesbeforesystemstartupandtesting
- Performbasiccircuittestingandtroubleshootingusingappropriatetestequipment
- Coordinateinstallationworkwithelectricians,project managers,general contractors,andothertrades
- Maintain clean,organized,andcode-compliantinstallations
- Followcompanysafetyproceduresandjobsiterequirements
- Completerequireddailydocumentationandcommunicateprojectprogressorconcerns
- Assistwithsystemtesting,inspections,andcorrectionswhenrequired
- Participateintraininganddevelopfirealarminstallationskills
- Firealarm,electrical,orlow-voltageinstallationexperienceispreferredbutnotrequired
- Willingnessandabilitytolearnfirealarminstallationmethods,devices,circuits,andapplicablecodes
- Abilitytofollowinstructionsandworkfromconstructiondrawings
- Dependable,safety-conscious,andabletoworkeffectivelywithaprojectteam
- Strongcommunicationandjobsiteorganizationskills
- Attentiontodetailwheninstalling,terminating,labeling,anddocumentingwiring
- Valid driver’slicenseandanacceptabledrivingrecord
- Abilitytouseladders,lifts,handtools,power tools,andtestingequipmentsafely
- Commercialfirealarminstallationexperience
- Abilitytoreadfirealarmplans,riser diagrams,anddeviceschedules
- Experienceterminatingandtestingconventionaloraddressablefirealarmcircuits
- FamiliaritywithNECandNFPArequirements
- Firealarmsystemprogrammingorcommissioningexperience
- NICETcertificationorinterestinobtainingcertification
- Experienceassistingwithinspectionsandacceptancetesting
- Electricalorlow-voltagelicense,certification,orapprenticeshipexperience
- OSHAorlift-operationcertifications
Theidealcandidatetakesprideinclean,accurateworkandunderstandstheimportanceoflife-safety systems.
Previousfirealarmexperienceisvaluable,butwewillalsoconsiderdependableindividualswhohaveastrongworkethic,mechanicalability,andagenuineinterestinlearningthetrade.
