We are hiring remarkable summer camp staff to serve our kitchen area! Join our summer camp team and make $400 per week. Working at a Girl Scout camp offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth while enjoying a rewarding and adventure-filled summer. As a camp staff member, you’ll play a vital role in helping girls grow in confidence, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

- At least 16 years of age.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
- Hold a current Serv Safe Food Handler certification, or be able to obtain one.
- Visual/auditory ability to respond to environmental and other hazards.
- Ability to respond calmly in a crisis situation.
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen appliances, operations, and cleaning preferred.
- Ability to assess cleanliness of dishes, food surfaces, and kitchen area.
- Ability to assess the condition of food.
- Excellent customer service, including the ability to maintain a calm demeanor with adults in conflict.
- Excited to be outdoors and work with youth.
- Interested or experienced in camp and guiding youth in a variety of activities.
- Energetic and has a desire to grow future girl leaders.
- Certified or able to become Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
- Willing to stay in Mindoro, WI for the entire summer and live onsite with our campers.
- Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
- Available May 28th – August 11th, 2026
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients: chopping, peeling, and measuring items under the direction of the Food Services Coordinator.
- Help with basic cooking tasks such as boiling, sautéing, and baking under supervision, ensuring the food meets quality standards.
- Maintain a clean kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans; cleaning countertops, floors, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist in checking stock levels, organizing supplies, and properly storing ingredients.
- Help with storing and rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure ingredients are fresh.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste, keeping trash areas tidy, and following health and safety protocols for waste disposal.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations including food handling, hygiene standards, and safety protocols. Help maintain Food Safety, ACA, and GSUSA standards for health and safety in the kitchen.
- Provide assistance to other areas of camp when requested.
- Assist in the opening and closing procedures of camp, including staff training.
- Comprehend and implement emergency procedures through regular practice drills.
- Maintain the health and safety of campers.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment for both campers and other staff.
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand:
- Living and sleeping in a rustic outdoor environment.
- Working irregular hours: early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Walking, hiking, and working outdoors in wooded areas and on uneven natural paths.
