Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operate school bus safely and professionally, following all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies.

• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely transportation.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking fuel, oil, water levels, and vehicle condition.

• Maintain cleanliness and fuel levels of the bus.

• Park the bus safely at designated loading areas for passenger boarding.

• Advise passengers to remain seated and behave in an orderly manner.

• Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions calmly and appropriately.

• Report any delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.

• Communicate respectfully with students, parents, and school officials.

• Enforce bus rules consistently to ensure student safety.

• Attend all required safety meetings and training sessions.

Requirements:

This position requires a valid Commerical Driver’s License with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. Kobussen will provide paid training for those who do not hold a CDL license.

• Must be 21+ years old

• Valid driver’s license for at least the last 3 years

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Strong communication/customer service skills

• Ability to sit long periods of time and work in varying weather conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and meet physical demands of the role

• Pre-employment drug screening and background check
