Material Handler, Forklift Operator
General Summary
Under general supervision, this role is primarily responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of products within the company’s warehouse. The position facilitates the receiving, storing, and shipping of products or materials. Warehouse operators maintain inventory levels, ensure the safety of workers and products, and manage the physical organization of the warehouse. The position will train on 1st shift for 30‑90 days, then transition to 2nd‑shift hours.
PrincipalDuties and Responsibilities
- Handling of materials to and from production
- Ensuring that all goods loaded or unloaded match the relevant documentation
- Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures
- Accurate relabeling of products
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Warehouse Supervisors or Manager
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
- Assisting with inventory counting or consolidation
- Activity to be completed with a mix of MHE and manual lift
- Primary use of RF scanners, with some system navigation required
- Any additional tasks assigned, as necessary
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Must have experience with Excel, using and maintaining spreadsheet data.
- Experience utilizing ERP/WMS systems required, preferred use of SAP/EWM
- Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
- Must be able to multi‑task in a high‑paced, high‑intensity environment.
- Possess ability to adapt in different circumstances and communicate changes clearly.
- Character of a high school diploma or GED, and a minimum of three years related experience in Shipping/Receiving/WHSE or Inventory Control.
- MHE Certification preferred
- DOT Certification preferred
The working environment is generally favorable in the warehouse settings. Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate in Oterra setting, but may require additional accommodations when working in the warehouse. A portion of the job will take place in cooler and freezer environments, for which adequate PPE will be provided. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have good mobility and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The position will train on 1st shift for 30‑90 days, then transition to 2nd‑shift hours.
