NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

To assist with the provision of the pharmacy service by participating in:

• The accurate and safe assembly of medicines to be dispensed
• The accurate and safe receipt, storage, distribution and delivery of medicines
• The production, monitoring and filing of documentation
• A ward stock management service

The working pattern for this role is:
Sunday morning 10:00am to 13:00pm.

• To receive prescriptions and orders at pharmacy dispensary from nurses, patients or portering staff.
• To dispense individual in-patient, outpatient and discharge prescriptions which may include cytotoxics, named patient medicines and controlled drugs following standard operating procedures.
• To receive and distribute all types of pharmaceutical products (including intravenous fluids aseptic and cytotoxic preparations) into the pharmacy department from wholesalers and other hospitals.
• To receive / check medical gases and ensure appropriate storage

• Scottish Vocational Qualification Pharmacy Services Level II or working towards or equivalent experience
• Be capable of understanding and working within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Commitment to CPD / Self motivation / Ability to work unsupervised
• Able to plan, prioritise and organise workload and to work under pressure
